Purpose 1: Increased gender equitable income among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households, women, and youth.
About
A total of 60 000 extremely poor and chronically vulnerable people are expected to participate in VSLA while 31050 producer farmers are targeted to participate in FFBS to increase income through diversified on-farm and off/non-farm livelihood options.
Additionally, 7120 men and female youth are targeted to participate in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Life Skills Development with support from Takunda.
Women and youth are the priority groups for livelihood interventions owing to gender issues surrounding these groups that limit their active participation in viable diverse socio-economic activities.
Key Interventions
- Promotion and Scaling up of Village savings and lending (VSLA) among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households
- Facilitate the adoption of Sustainable improved agricultural technologies and practices by farmers through Farmer Field Business School (FFBS)
- Establish and strengthen collective input and output marketing and linkages between farmers and other viable market actors within value chains to increase sales, knowledge of market requirements, and performance of within the value chain.
- Facilitate Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Life Skills Development
- Establishment and strengthening of business development services (BDS)
